Shelly Cherkassky, LSW, LMSW
Shelly Cherkassky is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of New Jersey and obtained her Masters degree in Social Work from New York University.
Shelly has worked in various outpatient settings providing therapy services for individuals, families and couples. Shelly has facilitated various therapeutic groups, including those focusing on women’s mental health issues, enhancing social skills for children and coping with grief.
Shelly’s specialties include providing therapy for children, adolescents and adults who experience distorted thoughts, low self-esteem, anxiety, difficulty managing stress, difficulty managing anger, relationship conflicts and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and issues, Shelly draws from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation, often incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques and play therapy.
Shelly provides a supportive and compassionate environment that is welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe.
